Gundam: Naked Concept by vforvengeance Gundam: Naked Concept by vforvengeance
People wear armors all the time to protect themselves both physically and mentally. From a football player who puts on protective gear to a politician who always sound like he's a good guy, an Achilles' heel can bring an end to their careers. Everyone are born with vulnerabilities like illnesses, allergies, disabilities etc and that is why our survival instincts push us to overcome our vulnerabilities and made us more thick-skinned to face the harsh reality out there.

A Gundam is always portrayed as a multipurpose war machine meant to survive in any environments and capable of taking multiple hits as it has a shell 10 times thicker than a warship. Which brings me to ponder:

What if the Gundam is stripped down to nothing? Even without beam sabers and built-in head vulcans?

As you can see here, my "Naked" Gundam concept is capable of changing into 3 types of combat gears meant for different purpose. Although the armors can increase the Gundam's combat capabilities and defenses, the raw deadliness actually comes from it's bare form-Naked form where the Gundam fully manifests its survival instinct and overcoming odds with its increased mobility and speed.

Like how Beowulf took out Grendel fist to fist and wearing nothing, I can see that one capable of overcoming his vulnerability but still unable to hold his testosterone for lust. No matter how powerful a weapon can be, the question still lies in the hands of those who wield it. Enjoy

I think you should think up MORE combat gear, like "Eagle (extra flight capabilities)" or "ninja (even more mobility and speed PLUS stealth)"

It would looked more like Centurions if I do that. Besides, I did mention that its NAKED form is the strongest form

their primary body structure looks the same, their torso and pelvis, leg structure looks the same, the shoulders arms all look the same, the foundation of their structure is not unique but more similar, however only the accessories, armor pads, helmets, color and gears make them different apart.

The new gundam designs like 00 never use the same structural foundation for their gundams. All the 4 gundams use different foundation for their designs and never the same, even the thrones look different from the meisters but their foundation of their design is more insect like. Kriyos and Exia are different in their structural composition and so does double O has different structure from EXIa.

Of course they looked the same because they are of the SAME ONE naked base unit which I add on armors, helmets, weapons etc like a real soldier. Look closely before you leap...

Oh really? 00 Gundams are mostly redesigned from the same old frames which have been used for about 5 times in both 2 TV seasons and side mangas, I simply can't see the differences each "new" Gundams differ from each others. Beside, this is totally out of topic. It should be about my own naked Gundam concept.

One of these Gundam's armor reminds me of Master Chief (Halo series).

I think maybe you know which one I am talking about.

The Naked, base almost looks like a Space version(in Space mobility in any direction is a lot easier than within a gravity/atmosphere environment), though I assume those are attachment points on the chest instead of thrusters.

This concept goes much further than the F90 in that the F90's add-on's were more of "boxes" than the total armor changing your concept has. It allow better more efficient customizing in that armor parts are better able to be changed out or savaged off disabled units, or upgrades added.

Much like reactive armor today is a add-on for tantks, this system allows you to have tough ruggeded core unit with the ability o totally change the armor load to the situation: in a urban area full of infantry, add more leg armor with anti-infantry provisions to protect your mobility, In an area such as a swamp: keep your leg armor and in general your total armor weight down so you don't sink in and or get stuck. In Space: add bulkier/heavier armor to the torso and arms with built-in weapons with added thrusters(all over the unit) on the back and maybe the legs(all other leg armor being removed) for mobility, with no atmosphere shape means all but nothing save deflection of enemy weapons and detection.

Better than "Backpacks" any day....

Now you see a mech that can changes clothes.

I don't intend to shoot this "Naked" Gundam up into space as I want to set the whole story in real life combat situations(land, sea and marine) otherwise legs would be useless if humanoid mechs like these float in space.
Something like Patlabor and FrontMission where mechs are put to practical uses.

Thanks for the tips anyway, I will look into it soon.

It's not really touched on in the movie at all, but the G-Saviour works on this concept. The naked frame is the base, and then armour/weapons/etc are added to suit. For space use, it has next to nothing on the legs or upper arms, for example.

I think you can show more characteristic of the naked design on the other armored designs to show that they are from the same series of designs more obviously

Interesting way of drawing the joints.
Would those be biomechanics in the wrist joints and some other parts? It looks more muscular than mechanical.

I was going to originally say the weight read-outs looked a little light, but then I saw that it looks to be from the miniature mobile suit era (F-90 and beyond in U.C. if I'm not mistaken), and that it is, in fact, naked.

All in all, a very advanced looking suit, and a job well done, good sir!

i was thinking something similar concept of it that time, just the gundam is more on like testing its performance without armor, just like sport days lol. they test how fast it run, jump, respond, etc.

and the look i thought of that time is a bit like evangelion, slim looks.

maybe with some sponsors vinyl on its body. :XD:

So those Naked Gundam are Melee/Mid Range? I look those equipment, mostly is using in assaulter or assassination on the battle field with their equipment. If like that their armor have a certain high isn't? And if got any accident and Naked Gundam need to off its combat, then what weapon it will protect their self?
Great design and concept and idea for every gundam. I'm very impressive that you have a lot creativity concept. >///<
And Senpai, Dec 2008 Comic Festa, have you going? I will take this chances to meet DA friends as i know. So wish you will be there.

The Naked Gundam model would be hardcore screwed in a firefight.

Then again, for all I know it has enough speed due to lack of armor to avoid bullets. Hm. Very interesting concept and design, despite my opening statement I'd actually prefer to pilot it over a standard unit.

And, more randomly, the "Naked" should align with the 'n' in "Gundam". That way it's sort of a staggered thing. Hard to describe.
